Meet our Governors

On this page, you can find about more about our Governors including their skills and experience and how they help to make a difference here at Elton Primary School.

Miss J Lomax - Parent Governor

I am a highly qualified secondary school teacher with a first class degree and Post Graduate Certificate of Education.  I have working in my school now for six years and have developed a range of skills that enable me to be a very successful teacher (75%A*-A).   Furthermore, I have been a curriculum mentor for ITT students for 4 years, securing positive and successful outcomes for the ITT students that I have been responsible for,  As well as this, I am employed by Edge Hill University as an Associate Tutor, working directly with ITT students in a range of educational settings.  My role is to support and coach ITT students to be meeting the QTS standards and provide them with a broad and varied experience ensuring they are appropriately equipped to begin their career in teaching.

Recently, I have been appointed as Research Lead at Culcheth High School.  This means that I am responsible for providing staff with credible resources and experiences that will allow them to become ‘evidence informed’ in their practice.  I have worked closely with the AHT to design and implement a credible CPD programme for staff ensuring that they are given a range of opportunities and experiences to develop their own practice and work collaboratively with others.  I am currently in the process of implementing lesson study into the school with positive responses from students.

Most significantly, I am passionate about positive teaching and learning and firmly believe that every child deserves access to the highest quality of education, regardless of setting and therefore my role as governor to share my expertise in order to further support and develop the educational experiences of every child at Elton Primary School.
